The footsteps we leave behind

News is always old, the minute you hear it.

With our brand new blog, which seems to work kinda well so far (with a few quirks for geeky ol’ me to fix), I am more than happy to write it together with my neighbor-on-the-left Youn-hee. I’ve read her personal blog for quite some time now, and even though it usually was in Korean (and those horrible, horrible translators completely messed up certain posts), I knew that her intelligent way of looking at the world would be interesting for people other than me, too. That, and I just love to do things together with her, make this (brand sparkling new and unique) dual-blogging style simply beautiful.

Making footstepsAs we just left the 60-day mark behind, the day where Youn-hee will arrive on Schiphol airport is nearing. I’m getting more and more excited, thinking about all the things we can do together. Obviously we’ll blog our way through our events as-well, to keep our friends and family virtually updated. And. Well. We’re both geeks anyway..

While we’ll be spending time together in the summer, which will most likely make it just a tad more difficult to leave footsteps behind, I found the title of this post just right. I’m still not sure why though. Making footsteps shows what life truly is. Life isn’t just about the here and now. It’s about the past, too. It’s about the footsteps you leave behind, the movement in the water as the leaf lands on it. There here and now creates the past, as we speak. Or type. Or walk.

By starting this new blog, I will start making those ripples again. I didn’t write in quite some time, so it might take a bit of effort to get back in my old writing habit again. But I am really happy that WoriParadise is here. I imagine it will be an interesting, insightful and above all; Really fun experience for all of us.

So I welcome you once again, to WoriParadise. It’s a diary. It’s a photoalbum. It’s Forever Lost.

It’s Youn-hee and Dave.
