This message is written by Dave The writings of an unknown stranger we do not know, part deux.

You can catch up on part one here.

When the doors opened, I let Dave go ahead to meet Youn-hee. Given that I already knew both pretty well, I wanted to give them their first moment together without familiar eyes stalking their every moves. I did peek around the corner though, and saw Dave hugging Youn-hee for the very first time, and in an oh-so clumsy kind of way. Cuteness :).

I followed them with a small distance separating us. The distance felt a bit bigger though, as they both seemed to have forgotten all about me. I can’t blame them, though. They look so nice together. Youn-hee told me about how she was a bit nervous about the whole english speaking thing, but it seems to go pretty darn well.

We walked around for a bit in the airport, as we still had some time before the express bus left. We walked up and down the long building, trying to look for some noodle place Dave once told me about. But after a short while they settled with another place, one story down. Sitting across each-other, I decided to take another table to just let them be for a while. I noticed Dave’s hand touching Youn-hee’s hand more than once, and definitely not by accident. You player, you.

Even though Dave couldn’t sleep in the airplane, he was pretty excited. They talked quite a bit, but by the time we were in the bus on our way to where Youn-hee lives (and our homestay place is), silence started slipping in. I can’t blame them, though. It’s quite an experience after all.

After a few hours in the bus, and a somewhat nauseous later, we arrived at our destination. We walked across the street, Dave carrying his big bag (on wheels, don’t worry) and backpack, Youn-hee walking a bit close to him, they entered a beauty parlor. Around the corner a familiar voice popped up; Youn-hee’s mom.

Part three coming soon.
